Context

• The formation of a professional organization for pediatric hemato-oncology nurses in India that serves as a platform to empower nurses to define, advocate, promote and practice highest standards of nursing care for children and youth suffering from cancer and blood disorders.
• Support fellow pediatric hematology oncology nurses in achieving their goals.
• Assist novice pediatric hematology oncology nurses in capacity building.
• To promote development of strong National Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurses Association.
• Update recent care approaches in pediatric hematology oncology nursing.
• To bring together worldwide pediatric hematology oncology nursing.

Purpose

The National Paediatric Haematology Oncology Nursing Conference was held on 19th-20th February, 2024 at JLN Auditorium, AIIMS, New Delhi. This conference was held with 192 participants from Indian hospitals and institutions as well as 35 faculties from various esteemed hospitals and institutions attended this conference.

Status/Next Steps

The nursing core group meeting is planned in the coming three months.
